The Pac 300 Series Chrome Moly Retainers are machined from 4130 Chrome Moly Steel and are primarily designed for smaller valve springs. These retainers are heat treated, black oxide finish and designed for strength and weight savings. While they are definitely not as light as titanium retainers, they are an excellent choice for entry level or budget minded engine builds.
